From rnewsom at cayuse.com Fri May 2 14:14:26 2008 From: rnewsom at cayuse.com (Rylan Newsom) Date: Fri, 2 May 2008 14:14:26 -0700 Subject: [Cayuse424 Users] Techinical Support Tip: CDMRP Applications Message-ID: <02c601c8ac99$80b023a0$82106ae0$@com> Greetings, In an effort to provide information to this listserv, I will be posting the occasional ?Technical Support Tip? . Today, I would like to discuss our support of CDMRP applications and inform you of an application development tip. Currently, Cayuse424 provides 100% support for all grant applications to CDMRP. There is, however, a slight difference between submitting these applications using Cayuse424 vs. PureEdge. Agency instructions require that the ?unique log number? that is issued from the pre-application be entered into the PureEdge ?Application Filing Name? field. Because Grants.gov does not support this field in the schema for System-to-System vendors such as Cayuse, the ?unique log number? is instead entered into the ?Applicant Identifier? field in the top right corner of the SF 424 Face Page. We have confirmed both with Grants.gov and CDMRP that the ?Applicant Identifier? field is used at CDMRP to connect the pre-application with the full application. If you have any questions or comments regarding this post please post them to the Cayuse listserv or contact me at HYPERLINK "mailto:support at cayuse.com"support at cayuse.com. This maintenance update includes a new enhancement for signing out of the Cayuse424 application. The new "Sign out" enhancement is geared to prevent proposal lock-out (and Cayuse424 lock-out if using Single Sign-on) when logging-out of Cayuse424. You'll notice the that "Sign out" link is now blue and is no longer pushed off your screen by long names/usernames (screen shot below). All Cayuse424 Users should log-out using the "Sign out" link. Closing the browser window will not log you out of your Cayuse424 session. 2) CDMRP Update: "Partnering PI" Applications - Several CDMRP applications require that "Partnering PIs" complete a registration process prior to the proposal submission deadline in order to associate his or her grant application package with that of the Initiating PI. Part of this process requires that the "Partnering PI" upload a Scope of Work and a Federal Agency Financial Plan (if applicable) to slots #4 and #9 of the Attachments Form. In order for Cayuse424 to support this requirement, we have made updates to the XML mapper that prevented C424 users from correctly attaching these PDFs. In order to successfully upload to slots #4 and #9 you'll need to upload a source document (a blank Word doc would suffice) into the attachment fields that are supposed to be empty. Cayuse will not send source documents so this will enable you to upload your PDF into the appropriate slot. 3) We have heard very positive feedback from folks using the new export/import feature in version 3.4. This includes positive feedback from non-Cayuse424 institutions who have used Subawards.com to export their subaward proposals to Cayuse424 customers. A list of current Cayuse424 customers for collaboration purposes can be found at: http://www.cayuse.com/about/customers.php. While you're there check out the new Cayuse website: www.cayuse.com. If you have any questions regarding any of these topics please don't hesitate to contact me. All my best, Jeff Jeff Colley Customer Operations Manager, Cayuse, Inc. p. (503)297.2108 ext. 241 c. Overall, Cayuse424 supports approximately 75% of all funding opportunities available at Grants.gov. With the release of Cayuse424 version 3.5 in August we'll be supporting nearly 90% of all funding opportunities in Grants.gov. For current support information please see the following: http://www.cayuse.com/documents/Cayuse_Federal_Agency_Support.pdf. How do you know which opportunities Cayuse424 supports? You can download any opportunity from Grants.gov into Cayuse424. If Cayuse424 does not support the opportunity you will get the "Unsupported Opportunity" icon next to the Opportunity number (see screenshot below). Because of their importance, we would like to make sure that you are aware of three areas within Cayuse424 where you can view the Grants.gov tracking number as well as how to check on the status of your submitted proposal. First, for quick reference, there is the lightning bolt icon that can be found on the All Proposal list (Proposal tab). If you place your mouse over the lightning bolt icon the hover help box will display the associated tracking number. Additionally, if there was a transmittal error, the lightning bolt icon would appear broken. Secondly, there is the Electronic Submission screen which is found within the proposal by clicking on the lightning bolt icon. Here you can expand the Proposal Submission History to see the associated tracking number(s), submit date(s), and who submitted the proposal. Additionally, the tracking number will appear as a link that allows you to open a new window and check on the status of your application. Finally, there is the Reports tab. Here you will find the Submission Report. Simply put, this report gives the user a list of all submitted proposals that they have permissions to listed by submission date. All of the information available found on the Electronic Submission screen is available here, including a link that takes you directly to the proposal. We hope that this functionality will assist you in identifying proposals with their associated tracking numbers. If you have any further questions regarding this topic, or any others, please do not hesitate to either contact us at HYPERLINK "mailto:support at cayuse.com"support at cayuse.com or post them to this listserv.
