From SDixon at mednet.ucla.edu Tue Nov 4 14:40:34 2008 From: SDixon at mednet.ucla.edu (Dixon, Soon-ok) Date: Tue, 4 Nov 2008 14:40:34 -0800 Subject: [Cayuse424 Users] BAA07-01 Message-ID: Hi Jeff, One of my PIs had to submit an Executive Summary for BAA07-01 through http://www.tfims.darpa.mil/baa, although we have preferred a Grants.gov route per the instruction. The downloaded application didn't seem to accommodate the Executive Summary submission and the downloaded application didn't seem to be a full proposal package. When the PI receives an invitation for a full proposal, will the application I have saved in CAYUSE will change to a full proposal package or should reload it? Hope this makes sense to you. The icon could be distracting at first sight. The icon is a red circle with a slash through it ([cid:506322822 at 04112008-190f]). You'll see this icon on both your Proposals tab and the Updated Opportunity List (Preferences/Admin tab). The purpose of this icon is to show the user that the specific opportunity is both expired and has been removed from the Grants.gov server. You'll notice the icon on older proposals; particularly DOD proposals (DOD opportunities expire frequently and are deleted from the Grants.gov server). You're still able to transform the proposal to another, perhaps updated, opportunity or funding mechanism if desired. Tip: You can hide most of these proposals and/or opportunities (and associated icon) by unchecking the Include Submitted Proposals box (Proposal tab), setting your Days Back Filter to 3 months (Proposal tab) and unchecking the Show Expired Opportunities box (Preferences/Admin tab). If you have any questions or concerns regarding this new icon please do not hesitate to contact us at support at cayuse.com. Any Ideas? In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <006a01c93f81$164c73d0$42e55b70$@com> Greetings Cayuse Customers, Last Wednesday we sent out a notice regarding our security certificate, and it's compatibility with Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3. I would like to remind everyone on this listserv that: both Firefox 3 or Internet Explorer 8 are not supported Cayuse browsers. Below, you will see our original notice with a workaround for Firefox 3. Currently we are experiencing some technical issues with Firefox 3 that is preventing users from being able to access the Cayuse424 login page. It should be noted that Firefox 3 (and Internet Explorer 8) are not currently supported browser(s) by Cayuse, and that continued usage might be problematic. We expect to announce full Firefox 3 compatibility with our next release in early December. There are two ways to avoid this browser issue. The first is to switch to Firefox 2, or use Internet Explorer versions 6 or 7; which are our currently supported browsers. The second option, for users who wish to stick with Firefox 3, is to re-set a security certificate. This process deletes an invalid certificate and re-installs a replacement. To do this: 1. Go to Tools -> Options 2. Click the Advanced Button 3. Go into the Encryption tab. 4. Click "View Certificates" 5. Scroll down until you see "The Go Daddy Group, Inc" 6. Delete all of the certificates listed under this header. 7. Click Okay to close the Certificate Manager, then Okay again to close the Options Menu. Once completed, access your Cayuse424 URL again. The system will warn you about a non-trusted certificate. Click "Or you can add an exception.". This will prompt Firefox to fetch the correct certificate in a new window. Simply click on "Get Certificate" and then "Confirm Security Exception". This process should allow you to access your instance of Cayuse424 using Firefox 3. Please don't hesitate to contact us at support at cayuse.com if you have any questions regarding this matter. These errors are due to a service outage on the Grants.gov 2006 server. Grants.gov has not communicated how long this outage may last, however, we do have a viable workaround. Below you will find instructions for how to change your proposal's submission target so that you can successfully submit to the Grants.gov 2007 server. 1. Enter the proposal in question, and go to the submission screen 2. Under Electronic Submission, you will see a blue hyperlink that says "More Info". Click the link 3. A pop-up window will tell you about your current submission target. Click on "Show Advanced Options" 4. Click the radio button for "Submit this proposal to Grants.Gov '07 Server" 5. Click "OK" 6. Click "Return to Proposal" 7. Submit proposal Your proposal should submit to the Grants.gov 2007 server without any issue. This work-around is typically not the recommended method of submission. The 2007 server should only be used during emergencies such as the one we are currently facing. In the future, if you come across a situation that you think warrants changing the submission target, please contact us before proceeding. If you have any questions regarding this issue please do not hesitate to contact us at support at cayuse.com or 503.297.2108 Option 2.
