From ifrantz at cayuse.com Wed Jan 6 15:36:48 2010 From: ifrantz at cayuse.com (Ian Frantz) Date: Wed, 6 Jan 2010 15:36:48 -0800 Subject: [Cayuse424 Users] A Note on RC4, Salary Cap & Info Validations Message-ID: <01e801ca8f29$1d958610$58c09230$@com> Hello Cayuse Customers, Three quick updates: 1. I confirmed with NIH in early December that RC4 applications are to use "NIH - Minimal" validation type within Cayuse. This will not be the default selection for these announcements and can be changed by selecting the drop-down menu to the right of the Error/Warning/Info button. As a reminder changing between types does not impact any proposal data. 2. The new 2010 NIH Salary cap of $199,700 has been posted: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-10-041.html and can be updated by system administrators only under the Admin tab/Institutional Preferences. 3. Within the Errors & Warnings validations we've added a new Informational type to the list. These messages do not inhibit a successful submission and may only appear when certain conditions are met. One new Info validation is a comparison between a Requested Salary and the NIH Salary Cap. This validation compares the monthly Requested Salary to what is the monthly NIH Salary Cap of $16,642 using the new yearly $199,700 cap. So you will see this Info appear only when requesting funds above $16,642 per month. Again, this will not result in a submission failure. Please contact us if any further clarification is needed. Cayuse424 Training Session: Tuesday, January 26th at 10:30am Pacific time: https://www2.gotomeeting.com/register/362734323 2. Adobe Subaward Attachment Form Update: I've gotten a lot of positive feedback regarding the ability to import the Adobe Subaward Attachment Form into Cayuse424 version 4.0. One thing I wanted to point out, which I neglected to mention in the v4.0 Overview Sessions, is that we currently do not support the ability to import the Fed/Non-Fed Subaward Budget into Cayuse424 at this time. That being said, if your collaborator used Subawards.com (it's free) they could develop and export the Fed/Non-Fed Subaward Budget which you could then import into your instance of Cayuse424. 3. As some of you may have noticed the program announcement naming convention for the NIH parent opportunities have changed (i.e. the Parent R01 is now PA-10-067). Here is a link to the new Parent Announcements (For Unsolicited or Investigator-Initiated Applications): http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/parent_announcements.htm 4. Cayuse has hired Nathanael Cole as our new Customer Support Coordinator. Nathanael will work alongside Ian Frantz as part of our Support/Customer Operations team. Nathanael brings a tremendous amount of customer and technical service background to the Cayuse team. We are very happy to have Nathanael onboard! Please let me know if you have any questions regarding any of these updates. All my best, Jeff Jeff Colley Customer Operations Manager | Cayuse, Inc. p. (503) 297.2108 ext. 241 | c.
